If one wants longer lenses but can only afford a teleconverter, then go ahead and buy them with the knowledge that there will be loss of f/stops and some image softening. I have a Hasselblad 2X teleconverter to double my 500mm Hasselblad lens to 1000mm [1 meter] when I need the longer length...

If you want a wider exposure latitude, you need to use C41 color print film.

Definitely have the loading sensor adjusted! Follow @MattKing's advice on this as Gospel.

When you load film do you wind the film until the arrows across the film line up with the starting location? Reread the camera manual on film loading and verify that you are doing exactly what the instructions are telling out. You are definitely starting to shoot too early in the roll of film.

Welcome to Photrio! Expired film is not your friend and the losses one experiences are not worth the cost savings. Only buy fresh film, checking the expiration date and comparing it with the film in the back of the shelve.

A big part of your problem is that the Sun is in front of you, not directly in line with the lens, but still in front of you and the foreground is back lit. If you had taken the exposure for the vegetation only, then the sky would be slightly washed out and the rest of the exposure would be...

The Hasselblads are not heavy until one starts using a prism. The same can be said for Bronicas.

Rain here is so rare, that even though I have plastic rain sleeves, when it does rain here I am never ready. Partly because I have to find the rain sleeve and partly because other than the streets reflecting light in the rain, I have not picked out a location.

Two things to try: Prewash the film to remove some of the dyes, if any. Wash the film longer that you are to reduce any residual dyes.

Store the developer in StopLossBagsTM using their funnel for filling he bags. www.StopLossBags.com. I have stored XTOL and replenished XTOL for years with problems. Always test the developer with a a strip of film.
