I have inexpensive 20mm, 24mm, 28mm and 35mm Chinese viewfinders for several view finder 35mm cameras. The inexpensive viewfinders have be accurate enough to be very serviceable and they come in designer colors for for those who have an over driving drive to color code them.
I agree. The only cameras that I do not use AF are those which do not have it in the models I own: Hasselblad, Pacemaker Spreed Graphic, Graflex and Wide Lux.
I rarely take portraits, but when I do, I first talk to them and then ask permission. Perhaps because I talk to them first, I have never been refused. Although I have been told not to take photographs of people I never considered photographing.
I have a mid 2012 Mac Pro Tower with a separate 2 Terabit hard drive dedicated only to Time Machine. If something goes wrong with the main drive, Time Machine will do its job. I have always used a separate hard drive for Time Machine for just that reason. Later this year I will upgrade to a...
As Pieter points out, rounding the corners of 135 and 120 films cures many problems. I learned that at the then APUG when I first was guided to JOBO processors in 2007.
Ditto. I am happy with my CF lenses. I own two C lenses because the price was so low that I could not walk away plus I do not use those two, the 30mm C Fisheye and the 500mm C lens enough to be all that bothered with the poorer ergonomics. Note that the optical prescription of those two...
Some will clean without dissembling or partially disassembling. I personally am more inclined to send it out to a lens repair expert like Carol Floutot www.flutotscamerarepair.com/ContactUs.htm who has done some excellent lens repairs for me.
Photrio is no more a Hasselblad forum, than a Leica, Nikon, Canon, . . . forum. I have had Hasselblad cameras for over a decade, but I still find a need to get hands on information about Hasselblads from others. This is the same for me for Nikon, Speed Graphics, WideLux and other camera...
The increase of internet commerce has decimated business districts of all types across the world. I agree that it is a sad loss. The changes made by the impact of COVID have also changed our market places.
Adobe's Introductory LightRoom class has provided a good introduction, but I am ready for the next steps. I am using LightRoom Classic.
So far I have dove into the deep end of the PhotoShop pool for fixing dirt spots and distortion removal. I understand layers but since I will not be...
I freeze all my film. When I go on a trip I move the film to an insulated small backpack with two pockets for the blue freezer pack. Overnight in the place I am staying I put the freezer packs in the freezer. If the room does not have a freezer, usually have them free them for me.
I am looking for the best way to learn both LightRoom and PhotoShop:
Adobe Videos and lessons
You Tube videos and lesson
Books
Attend classes
A random walk though ones photographs fixing one at a time
What has worked best for you?
I wrestle with adding the Hasselblad 907/100 digital back to my extensive collection of Hasselblad lenses, 503 CX and 903 SWC. It would be a companion for my Nikon Z7ii.
Welcome to Photrio. A background in electrical engineering and electronic devices will be invaluable for tuning and adjusting cameras and working on circuit boards and replacing capacitors and resistors.
Welcome to Photrio. Hawaii is especially enjoyable to photograph because there are some many things to photograph and so many ways to photograph them. If one takes one subject and varies the composition approaches, focus, lens choice and exposure, a lot of film will be used before one wants to...
It is not just fixing the leak. The floors and walls must be dried out thoroughly and all mold must be remediated. Mold is a health issue if not completely removed and it can mass on healthy cameras and lenses.
I have take partial and total eclipse photographs and I would rather enjoy the eclipse than set up all the equipment ahead of time and scramble around in a hurry to get all the planned photographs and miss the enjoyment of the even which is rare at best, especially in good weather. Much like...
The question really comes down to do you want a TLR, TLR with interchangeable lenses, a folder without interchangeable lenses, or, included for completeness an SLR? There is no correct answer, only your personal answer. I have used all four and made my decision.
Storing A and B solutions separately and free of air is a good start. Measuring the dilution correctly is important. Always test the developer before developing rolls of film. Fortunately one only makes one mistake like that.
