This. It doesn't make sense.
As @koraks said, you either make an ECN2 film or you make a C41 film (forget about the remjet layer, i mean about the dye coupler themselves, etc). These two processes use a different color developer.
You can make an ECN2 film that looks acceptable on C41 process...
Exactly. That's what I mentioned too. The camera just requires routine service. Switches corrode over time, or get dirty, and some times misadjust due to wear (something that can be compensated for).
FE2 and FE are excellent cameras.
I consider the FE2 a superior camera. As well as FE>FM.
Nikon thought so too, the FE was priced higher, and received interchangeable screens when the FM had not.
Even I, a staunch detractor of the OM System, will have to concede that this is a genius idea.
This also means that the electronics are never off, but that isn't a bad thing. Yoshihisa Maitani mentioned (on an interview regarding the conception of the OM system) that he prefers cameras that...
The OMs probably required service by a competent repairman. It's not normal that an electronic camera leaks batteries.
As you already mentioned, other electronic cameras like the ES-II can have great battery life.
I had great battery life with the Nikon FE for example. Another fully electronic...
In the past this was the only way to develop...
You will find in some film datasheets suggestions for development for condenser vs diffuser enlargers. Condenser enlargers are supposed to produce contrastier results by design.
I had a lab that produced very good B/W prints. I asked the lab to...
God forbid me to use such a thing again. I had a Soligor 21mm in M42 mount and it was a horrible lens.
For reference, the other super wide angles i've had: Canon FL 19/3.5R, Nikon 20/4 AI, Nikkor-UD 20/3.5, Pentax M 20/4, Flektogon 20/4.
The Flektogon wasn't very good either, sold it promptly.
With the remark that many professionals used the Spotmatic back in the 60s, even in war scenarios. It was much more compact and lighter than a Nikon F with Photomic TTL meter -- which wasn't even invented when the Spotmatic was released. It has proven to be highly reliable, and the Super-Takumar...
If "Cheap lenses" is a requirement i'd recommend a Nikon body. Small and light = FE/FM, with inferior build qualty EM/FG, and with comical build quality FM10/FE10 (lightest)
As for your other choices: Canon, Nikon, and Pentax were the top 3 japanese manufacturers.
Canon had a R&D budget bigger...
They are at insanely high prices right now, prices that even I, a hardcore Canon FD fanatic, can't justify.
I'd recommend to sell before the hype deflates. Because there's no way to substantiate current prices for those lenses other than by hype, and hype eventually dies out.
Even...
This applies to the Contessa folder models.

PCR = earlier version with Compur-Rapid
The price is obscenely low, like 15 times lower than it should, where did you buy it?
Congratulations, i also have the same Olympic model and it's my favorite 35mm SLR. Love it to death! Does the AE finder matches? (The Olympic model's finders have a golden Canon logo, instead of white logo...
Never doubt the honesty of your dear friend Flavio...
If this is your model
Then it does use silver batteries:
PS: This is strange, i'm almost sure mine used ONE cell, not two. And looked identical.

You probably have the old CdS chimney finder (it uses a S76 cell). Mine had a very broken meter. It was great as a finder, it blocked all stray light and had great clarity. However, since it doesn't fold down, it adds bulk.
Hmm...
I don't own the machine
There are some pics on the internet and they suggest that there is NO moving film plane, contrary to what I've claimed. Lol.
So it's a bit strange. Perhaps the front standard moves?
I'm so happy for you dear Nodda Duma.
Price looks very nice, dimensions too.
I just wish it was available on Contax RF/Kiev RF mount; the only choices for 25 or 24mm or wider on those mounts are insanely expensive museum-pieces from Zeiss (biogon, topogon) and Nikon, a rather expensive...
For me it's the opposite, i prefer the FE. Had a mint FM2 that got for a very good price, i sold it just 2 weeks after i got it. I much preferred the FE/FE2 viewfinder/meter and the auto mode.
I have seen something like that on a Leica accesories catalog.
There was something like a "single exposure leica", which allowed you to create an exposure on a single frame, it did not use 135 film.
Since the camera had no shutter, a required accessory was a frontal leaf shutter, which was...
Thanks for the link, it details the shutter tester i was describing on a previous post above.
Also, check out this British Intelligence report:
35. The timing of the fast range of the shutter is carried
out with the aid of a stroboscope of somewhat antique design.
By means of this the 1/200...
