Kodak and Ilford have both done their own testing, and found that the new CT scanners will damage film after just one pass. Ilford's own FAQ page states that the CT scanners are deemed unsafe for film irrespective of ISO speed. Here are a few links, including a post on Emulsive where the...
...is not informed about the extra cost mechanism to deal with consumer needs.
Proof of the awareness by film manufacturers (in this case, KodakAlaris)...first mentioned in this thread in Jan 2020

I checked the prices and indeed Provia really is the cheapest at the moment. I probably still was used to the old price of 400H here in the Netherlands. Somehow they managed to sell it there for €34 for a 5-pack
That would actually surprise ánd disappoint me... Don't you think there is...
...the past - could be T-Max 3200 in 120 (so far it has only been available in 135, also before its reintroduction).
Because 1-2 years ago KodakAlaris has already talked about it, and said that they "are at least thinking of it or evaluating it". The needed R&D for that is manageable, and with...
KodakAlaris is the sole authorized primary distributor and marketer of Kodak still film products, and it is quite likely that Eastman Kodak is not permitted to sell any still film products to anyone other than through KodakAlaris.
They both have their headquarters in Rochester New York.
My...
...name Kodak is still attached to the packets but in fact it isn't Kodak as it was once known to be. The chemicals part of Kodak has been KodakAlaris for a number of years and KA, as I understand it, has nothing to do in any commercial sense with what is now Kodak the still film maker which...

At the beginning of the year KodakAlaris said that there are two 'new' films planned to be introduced this year: One being a "reintroduction" of a film which was available some time ago...
Well said. Back paper problem has been solved. I use everyone's film. I am not going to change my habits. Kodak sheet film is great but expensive. I will be avoiding Sino Promise for the near term at a minimum.
Just keep in mind. Eastman Kodak hasn't had anything whatsoever to do with any chemistry for years. That was severed when Alaris was formed. Unfortunately the vendor in the US that packaged/prepared the pre bankruptcy chemistry lost a lot of cash in the downfall.
As I understand it, they have retained the KodakAlaris employees (most of whom were former employees of Eastman Kodak or the many international subsidiaries of Eastman Kodak).
The former zip code of KodakAlaris in Rochester NY - their international headquarters - continues to be the zipcode of...
Very strange. KodakAlaris website, made in USA for Sino Promise, with the UK address of Alaris, and the Rochester office of Alaris. May be that Sino Promise is retaining the few employees left in the appropriate time zones??
Still has the KodakAlaris website address, so these were created prior to Sino Promise getting their Kodak Professional website up and running.
It also has "Made in USA", which is a change from the last, "trade issue" "Made in Germany" product.
...no connection to the chemical business. Switching to HP5 plus won't change much. I personally have had more backing paper issues with Ilford than Kodak.
KodakAlaris mismanaged the chemical issues by not supervising their suppliers and has now punted the chemical business off to a Chinese...
I started a thread a few weeks back, which got totally ignored, about new D76 bags looking like the old ones made from the thicker plastic... sinopromise.
Same bag and size except no yellow. All white.
...manufacturing the black and white chemicals for a long time. It has been subcontracted out. A lot of the manufacturing was done in for KodakAlaris in Germany by Tetenal, who went into receivership a couple of years ago, leaving Kodak (and others) in a precarious position.
KodakAlaris...
I bought 5 units of Xtol and 1 unit of the Freestyle branded Xtol last night. I'll keep my fingers crossed that there are no quality problems. It seems to me that if the same Kodak employees make this stuff as made the old stuff and in the same factories, it should be the same, assuming the...
...a sort of recall, and then the entire Kodak photo-chemical and colour paper (and a few commercial lab related things) were sold by KodakAlaris (as agent for the Kodak UK Pension Plan) to the Sino Promise Group.
Some have received promises of product replacement for the defective X-Tol -...
Brand new. The package was a little scuffed on the outside, but it was still sealed. Says Kodak/Alaris 2019, and expires 4-2023. This is the first time there was a problem, and I usually buy those ancient paper packets on eBay (that never gave any trouble).
I've read the bulletin from Kodak/Alaris on Dektol "new look", but they made it sound like it was more of an appearance issue. Sorta like old coca cola. This looks way beyond that. Just mixed this and put it in a clear plastic bottle. The shot was taken w/ the flash on, which woke the chicken...
That is because you are going through the Great Britain route to their website.:D
The KodakAlaris website has always been incredibly complex, because it is set up to direct the user according to where they are accessing it from. Normally that works well, but sometimes when they edit things...
FWIW, most of the Kodak Photo-chemical information has now been moved from KodakAlaris' website to a website created and maintained by Sino Promise. They have also edited the data-sheets linked to there to remove the references to KodakAlaris.
The website address is here - kodaksino.com...
On the Sino Promise website, they have a products tab which lists each product line they distribute. If you click on the KodakAlaris link in that list, you get this graphic and wording, which has clearly been either created by KodakAlaris or developed with them:
Kodak minilab and professional lab products always had their own channel. There are still a lot of digital images printed on RA-4 paper but this market is completely a parallel world or in other words "there´s nothing there that we could buy and use". Are you sure about film?
We would like to...
