Nikon software for adjusting Nikon F5.

The Nikon PhotoSecretary software might be available for download on the Internet Archive. But you’ll need the appropriate Nikon connection cables to use it. And I’d be very cautious about downloading software from unofficial sources.

There was a follow-up project called Meta35, which offered new software—including the appropriate connection cables—for the Nikon F5 and other SLRs as a commercial product, but unfortunately it was discontinued.

I was able to successfully transfer exposure data from my F5 using it, though not all of the more advanced features of PhotoSecretary for configuring the F5 are available. At least, that was my experience.

No I don't mean the Photo Secretary Software which I have. Nikon has a software package that they only use internally to service the camera. It is mentioned in the service manual.

I don't think this software ever left Nikon's service center. The question is, what operating system does this program run on?

I think it's DOS. I couldn't find the copy of the service manual with the section where they said you use an Kyoritsu EF-8000 shutter tester and the software package that is used to adjust it. I downloaded some copy but it's missing that part. But I remember the instructions said to use DOS. Now you may say it's a problem with DOS, don't worry I have computer that run DOS natively with the proper serial port.
