Looking for a more budget lens in the 120-180mm focal range. Sub $200 would be ideal, but can work if it's a tad over. The focal plane shutter has some inconsistent speeds so I'm looking for a lens with a shutter.

I have an Ektar 4.7/127 in a Synchro-Compur shutter. Fresh CLA on the shutter but the front element has coating damage. I don't think this affects anything.

Asking CAD 175 plus shipping. Likely no tariffs because the lens is from the USA.

Very interested! Would the front element be the one you can unscrew? If so my is still good so I could swap for sure.

Yes, the 127mm EKtar and the 152mm Ektar are both good starter lenses. Heck, you might like then so much you never upgrade. Also, the 127mm f4.7 Rodenstock Ysarex that came on the 110A Polaroid cameras is extremely sharp with excellent contrast. The only problem with the 127mm lenses I mention is that they won't allow a ton of movements since they don't have a large image circle like the 150mm lenses do. Also, the 135mm f5.6 and 150mm f6.3 - 150mm f5.6 Fujinon lenses can be had for very good prices and are first rate optics.

Yeah I've also been hoping for a fujinon lens too, but totally happy with the Ektar so far! Just want to make sure I'm getting accurate speeds with it and whatnot

If you have another 4.7/127, yes I think you can swap the cells to the shutter.

I'll PM you some pics later as well as the measured exposure times. They are not perfect at the fastest but that's expected.

Clarification. These cells are threaded metric for Compur no.1 shutters. If your lens is in a barrel or in a Kodak shutter, the threads might not match. But you can likely swap just the front element.

Here are a couple pics. I'm unable to capture the coating problem but it's there.

This is what I currently have. Just a zoomed in cropped from a pic I took when I got it, can get something better in a bit if you need

Yeah this is a Kodak shutter, threads won't match. Lens cell OD is 1.5" or 38.1mm so maybe the element can be swapped.

Is that shutter non operational?

I love my 127 Ektars! I have four, three in Kodak Supermatic shutters and one in a Graphic Graphex shutter.
All the lens cells are interchangeable except one rear cell that was made in 1945. This rear cell measures 31.73mm, all the other cells are 31.42mm. The OD of all the front cells is 38mm and take series VI adapter.
OAPOli's lens is from 1958 and has better coatings than mine which are mid 40s vintage. Would OAPOli be willing to measure the threads on his lens?
