I made a pin hole shot. I know 35mm isn't good for pin hole and 8x10 would be much better so I said what if I asked Google Gemini to fix it. It does a good job I think

You will achieve something similar with normal adjustments in most image editing software.
The nature of pinhole is that it is unlikely to produce much acutance. Judicious use of a combination of resizing and sharpening tools pulls out the acutance that is hinted at in the original image.
I'm guessing that the AI mostly does the same thing, but quicker

Sort of took away everything that made the original pinhole photo interesting

the day when we can imagine a picture and it comes to fruition is here - with a keyboard and AI.

The day when all we'll need is a pinhole camera and ai to render it however we want is in our near future.

"... and take away everything... interesting" as T said.

Impressive. AI made it into a whole new image. I like it. No longer pinhole-like. How long did AI take to do that?

interestingly the original pinhole shot revealed the 2 dust spots very sharply and clearly.

Hardly surprising smaller apertures always make sensor dust more noticeable & your most unlikely to use any apertures even close to as small as a pinhole. F/128 is quite fast for a pinhole

I would say abut 30 seconds. So I know now that the pinhole image has a lot of information that AI can make use to create a sharp image. I think most of the details that AI revealed are there in the original image. AI can't fix an out of focus image that well.

So the question is can I count the image as mine?

Of course you can; it's your image! But to avoid getting sued by some AI company, you should include a footnote in the photo's description acknowledging the minor role of AI in touching it up.

Wow. I’m super impressed. I recently saw the post of the AI color rendition of Moonrise over Hernandez. I was very offended. But on this I’m super pleased. Which shows me, I’ve got conflicting opinions on AI. A love/ hate relationship I guess. Like most tech, it’s replete with much potential for good or bad.
But with regards to this post, again, wow!
I’m a huge fan of aluminum can images with pinholes. Of all camera formats, really, especially film.
I’m gonna have to build one, and try this out. Very, very cool post, C!
Thank you.
