I saw a video today that is suggesting China may be making new stock of Provia and Velvia 50, in all formats including sheet film. I dont know if there is any truth to it, but maybe Fuji struck a deal with Lucky or something to produce new film. The guy said the supply issues will be resolved with this move.

This is just based on a Facebook post saying that these films are currently (as of 17th December 2025) available at two places in Hong Kong.

It never ceases to amaze me that so many people have the neck to cast themselves as experts on YouTube. Of course there's a lot of great stuff out there, but there is so much rubbish as well.

To be honest, that Youtuber never suggested that there is anything going on with Fuji setting up coating line or anything else related to film production in China.

You just mention "Fuji" and the wishful thinking on sites like Photrio does the rest. Not so long ago Photrio was convinced that Fuji was coating film in China. All based on a couple of photos that suggested anything but that...

Provia came in stock at Freestyle last week and I stocked up. Dated 2027.

These were $29 each; I shoot about two rolls a year, and don’t expect these to get any cheaper so I stocked up.

Frivolous perhaps, but I enjoy the occasional departure from my (also beloved) ektachrome.

That's a good deal. I am a fan of E6. I'm pretty well stocked. Enjoy!

This photo is the analog photographers’ equivalent of a rap album cover. 😆

It's a film photographers version of a rappers "Money arm spread", just with Fuji slide film, so it's a "Slide film arm spread" 😂

I got chromes in different area codes. Reversing like a Honda in the land of the rising sun. Metering the highlights and shooting that sushi. My camera bag you know it's Gucci.

FWIW I never thought that, in fact I think in a few threads I responded with some things a friend I know from mainland china had translated from the stuff they saw (they weren’t coating any film and just had finishing equipment, which releaved a production bottleneck). Unfortunately folks didn’t seem to care and just kept wildly speculating.

For what it's worth, I just got a couple rolls of 35mm Provia, from B&H Photo, with a November, 2027 expiry date. So the expiration dates are inching forward.

Twice now in the last month I’ve ordered Provia 4x5 from Freestyle but their system isn’t real time and while they’ve accepted my order, they can’t fulfill.

I've got all my Fuji slide in the freezer til my vacation in April. Hopefully I'll get all the cameras I want to bring fixed up and tested before then.

I bought a box of 4x5 from one of my local camera stores yesterday for $120.95. It has a 9/2027 expiration date. Went over to another of my local stores and they had a decent stock of 35mm rolls with a 7/2027 date. B&H has had it in stock a few times in the last month or so, including on Sunday. So it continues to trickle out. However, I haven't seen 120 Provia or Velvia in stock in quite a while, which has me worried.

I have not seen any 120 Provia in the EU since November. I guess we just hang in there. I have orders from 4 online suppliers, two of which are prepaid 😢 . I'm hoping at least two of them deliver by December 2026 !

A couple weeks ago I passed by Fuji's store in Barcelona and they stock film. Let's say, a beautiful sight nowadays:

I purchased a pack of Velvia 50 120, IIRC exp 4/2027

Provia in 35mm appears available sometimes around (they did have it off frame) but none in 120.

I've got all my Fuji slide in the freezer til my vacation in April. Hopefully I'll get all the cameras I want to bring fixed up and tested before then.
Likewise and am far north, which unless for a sunny snowy day, I'm not planning to shoot color.
Have been wanting to CLA my Fuji 6x9 but it's daunting, either unavailable technicians or reeeeally long queue and turnaround.

Nice! I got mine from Spain too via mail order. Similar pricing. I mostly reserve it for half-frame: much easier to economically justify!

I had the same problem with not being able to CLA my Fuji 6x9. In fact the repairer forgot about it in a corner of his shop for a year after a few failed attempts to get inside of it. So I've gone the route of building a 3-lens Horseman 970 system.

That is much more than in Germany. Provia and Velvia 135 is here below 25 Euro. The 5-pack 120 is below 60 Euro. Problem is the availability.
