Does anyone have a recommendation for a tray heating mat? I've recently retired and downsized but I still like to make lith prints with my collection of outdated papers. I started in photography in 1974 after I enrolled in a college elective course and fell for the darkroom magic. I also have...
I have a screen for my 1956 Rolleiflex. It's labeled Rolleigrid and used to brighten the image at the edges of the screen. It works nicely for me. I have old eyes and trifocal glasses so any improvement is greatly appreciated.
I guess it's a user preference.
The B&W image is developed by the E-6 first developer proportionally in each dye sensitive layers. Not sure of the chemical make up of that compared to traditional B&W chemistry. Just a thought. Might want to use E-6 developer instead of straight B&W at color temps. I've tried color neg film...
As I understand it, in the E6 process, the first developer forms a negative silver image in the different dye layers. If there's an image then the color dyes have croaked. Just trying to shed some light on the mystery.
Good info. I've had the same experience for flash units that have had long periods of non use. Not for cameras, though. I have OM-4's that receive little use and I remove batteries as well. I'll have to check that out. Thanks
Thanks for the information. My biggest concern is the stop and fixer as great deal of my printing lately has been "Lith" printing. I was given several boxes of old photo paper (Agfa, Dupont and Kodak) from a friends grandfathers darkroom. Mostly 70's & 80's exp dates. Some very interesting...
I've relocated and my darkroom space has really gotten smaller. I've been a Kodak chemistry user forever but the odors are very bad in a small space. Anyone have any experience with the Legacy Pro Eco chemicals from Freestyle? How they would compare to the Kodak versions (Dektol, Indicator...
Maybe I've missed it in the 28 pages. How'd you like the film? Is it overly contrasty? large grain/small? what's the tonal quality? true film speed? is it an improvement over what you're using now? Is the film developer combination something you like? Will the film add something different and...
Thanks for the information. I wasn't familiar with the Selenium test. Very good info. I've always used the clip test and doubled the clearing time until it's more than 4 minutes. Tossed if that happens.
Thanks for the great info on HC-110. A little history on my 2 versions. The older syrup had an exp date of 8/16. Was in small bottles the entire time, I went back to using the old syrup as I was out of my other film developer. The older syrup was kept as backup and for my 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 sheet...
