Adjusted the shutter speeds on my Pentax SP II using the shutter speed tester I built. The cam is worn so getting the speeds right was a bit of a compromise. Better than when I started and things got cleaned up a bit in the process.

I measured speeds yesterday on the far left and right of the film back and they measured the same as in the middle in all fast speeds on a Pentax Spotmatic SP II and an MX. On the MX all speeds were within tolerance based on this chart. The SP II needs a CLA on the slow speed escapement. Now, I...

Thanks, good to know.👍 I do indeed plan on getting into the shutter. They're clocks essentially. I'm just finishing up a shutter tester I built. which should come in handy. I'll post up the video here soon.

I love this little folding gem. I got it from an elderly acquaintance that no longer used it. It's a nice compact well built piece of equipment. It needed a little work to get the light meter going and it still needs a good shutter CLA and adjustment.
