Thanks for the reply. These conditions are definitely not the case. The E displays without the arrows indicating over or under the given range. And no matter what the scene is, or where I am pointing the meter within the scene, it just displays the E. Thanks again.
Suddenly my meter is displaying E when I try to take a reading. The subject was neither too dark or too bright for a reading. The battery is good.
