Has no one ever made an external view/rangefinder combo?

Yes, exactly why I put the rangefinder on the bottom. Thank you, for once in my life I found an overlooked gem on ebay and was able to get this camera very affordably. Shutter and lens were in rough shape but cleaned up fantastically. Then I made my own distance scale and added the RF. The...

They're very cool but also triple the size of this camera. I've come to find 9x12 is the perfect balance between portability and the tonality I'm after. Both could be solved with a zoomable finder like that badass Linhof one šŸ˜€ That's not going to work great with my velco attachment...

Nothing remarkable but the typical postindustrial sprawl you see in the suburban Washington D.C. area.

Has no one ever made an external view/rangefinder combo?

Interesting read. I guess I would need to dremel out the front window and then replace the front and back glass with the correct focal length lenses and make sure they are the correct distance apart, all without interfering with the chunky beamsplitter that sits in between (which might have its...

Ah that looks perfect, what a cool little device. 75mm.. out of all the focal lengths, that's just tragic.

I've been having fun modding an old plate camera, recently attached a blik rangefinder. Yes it's velcro'd on.. I considered mounting it in a shoe screwed into the tripod mount but this is really a lot cleaner. It would be so nice if this RF had a 40mm viewfinder built in. I'm using the...

Pentacon six range has amazing value these days compared to other MF systems.

    Pentax 6x7 lenses

Good overview of most of the lenses, however I have to chime in to defend the 105mm - it's the perfect 'normal' length lens that every great camera needs. Its rendering sits squarely between vintage and modern looking - i.e. beautiful to most. Maybe the one you tried wasn't a stellar example.
  10. Processing 9x12 Film in the SP-445/SP-645

Here's a solution I came up with - attach a piece in the loose corner to lock the film in. I used pieces of old game boy cartridge cases but tons of materials would work. Perfect development so far.
