Procedures To Shooting Portraits on 8x10

I agree. Nothing is confortable with 8x10 photography, though.

f22 with bellows factor accounted for. The strobe has to be close to the subject, though.

Procedures To Shooting Portraits on 8x10

I like to do portrait photography in 8x10. It is my favorite media. I mainly use either a 300mm or a 360mm. I have a bunch of them. At close distances, they give very different perspectives, but both work. I don't think that anything longer will work on 8x10, because bellows extension will be...

    Leica Elmar-C 90mm f/4 help please

Ok, thanks, I understand now. The filter size of the lens is 39mm, but the pitch is .75 (not the standard one, which is .5). With care, I can partially screw a 39mm .5 filter on the lens and partially screw the hood on the filter. It is a solution. Does anyone know if there exists an adapter...

    Leica Elmar-C 90mm f/4 help please

I also have a new-to-me elmar-c 90, with the rubber hood. Will I be able to use 39mm filters on this lens with the 11251 series 5.5 retaining ring described above? How? I have a bunch oh 39mm filters and I certainly would like to use at least an orange and a red filter with this lens.

Ferri Bleach, Thiourea Sepia Toning and Gelatine Vulnerability. What Is Your Experience?

Hi! If you are in Eivissa, I guess the water will be very hard. Since thiourea toning is very is very basic (it requires a lot of hydroxide), calcium from the water diposits in the print in the washing step, after toning. In Barcelona, where the water is also very hard, I do a stop bath step...

Unexpected fogging: Why is Red light failing where Yellow-Green is sufficient?

I bought them from ledbox.es. I don't remember exactly what brand I chose, but it was true red (like this one). I also bought from the same place the power unit, with a remote, and a suport to hang the strip from the ceiling (like this one). The one I chose allows to cycle among several power...

Unexpected fogging: Why is Red light failing where Yellow-Green is sufficient?

I used to have safeligths similar to yours. When I started using some Foma papers, I noticed that the contrast was way lower than the the Ilford ones, so I tested for safelight fogging using the Kodak method. This method allows you to determine the time you can have the paper under safelight...

Sally Mann switches to digital from 8x10.

Since nobody mentioned it, I’m going to do it. I’m utterly devastated by these news.

    Darkroom Portraits (Part 2)

I love it! Great space and even greater enlarger. I'd love to get one of those.

Astrum IR B+W Negative, or IR-200

Very interesting. Where did you get the film, if I may ask?

Different fog+base levels in HP5+, why?

An update on the issue. I filed a complaint about the damaged film to Schiphol airport. I exchanged several e-mails with the claims manager, in order to clarify the circumstances in which that happened. Here I quote two sentences of their last one, which I think could be relevant to other film...

High density line in 120 negatives

I agree with you. However, what I think is the same problem is mentioned in this thread. No solution, though.

High density line in 120 negatives

The extra density happens on the other roll of film, the one on top of the curl, whose emulsion is facing inward. It's the one that would be receiving faster developer speeds.

Here there is a picture of how the inner film is curled in the spiral (just trying to support my claim).
