I see. It has been my experience that diffusion enlargers yield rather 'mushy' prints that lack sparkle. I know that some people are very fond of diffusion, but for 35mm work, especially, I feel that condensers offer more 'solid-looking' images, whereas diffusion images seem to lack depth and reality. This is a subtle difference in some cases, but you may want to try out the condenser kit for this enlarger. At least some of the charactersistics in this image to which I called your attention are probably due to the diffusion. The separation in the tones will be much better with condensers.
