This image was taken at the beach in Montalivet, France. It's a beautiful beach. Not only for the wonderful evening-light, but the sand becomes so smooth and with no "bumps" when the water is removed in the evening.
Shimoda: In this photo she actually just sat like this when I photographed my daughter - Ellen. I saw the pose and I told her to not move. Fortunately I didn't had to change the settings for the camera too much (just lower the front standard a bit). I had already calculated the f-stop. So, basically when I shoot the children they have to stay put for some 20-30 seconds until I'm done (and sometimes even more, depending on how much I have to move the camera and focus). They are used to it and I constantly tell them what I'm doing so they know what happends. I have worked with camera-models from 35 - Hasselblad to digital and found out that the LF-camera due to the time it takes to use it, it actually enhance the image (as long as the models don't freak out), but it brings a calmness to the image that I don't get with another type of camera.
