The Customs House - Dublin

Considered architecturally the important building in Dublin it is situated along side the River Liffey as it flows through the city center. It was designed by James Gandon (1743-1823). He came over to Dublin for what he thought might be a year or so and finished up spending the the final 42 years of his life there. The work began in 1781 and took all of 10 years to complete. The interior was destroyed by fire in 1921 & 1922 during the civil war.
Rebuilt it now still serves as a office and museum .

Very nice Tex, have seen many pictures of the customs house over the years but this has to be one of the better ones. Has an almost 3D look about it, the sky is really super as well as the people in the picture.

Thank you Thomas, Martin & John for your words of approval. I agree with you John, when the day, subject matter and exposure come right there's nothing quite like an HIE shot. Kodak should be ashamed of themselves.

Cheers
Vincent
