The Customs House - Dublin

Considered architecturally the important building in Dublin it is situated along side the River Liffey as it flows through the city center. It was designed by James Gandon (1743-1823). He came over to Dublin for what he thought might be a year or so and finished up spending the the final 42 years of his life there. The work began in 1781 and took all of 10 years to complete. The interior was destroyed by fire in 1921 & 1922 during the civil war.
Rebuilt it now still serves as a office and museum .

Beautiful, very beautiful. It's long ago since I ever used red filter. Are these glowing whites I see because of that?

Absolutely wonderful use of HIE and possibly the first time I've seen it souped in Rodinal, yet the grain doesn't look too intrusive at all. Excellent work!

very much like the people strolling and sitting in the foreground - works well w/ the IR and "softens" the overall image -- very nice.

Beautiful treatment of a gorgeous structure. Funny, it's almost as though those people were sunning themselves.

Thank you everyone for your positive responses. Just some general comments :
1. The red filter is quite common in the use of infrared film. The film itself is quite contrasty and grainy. People use it for impact photo's.
2. Rodinal was my developer of choice but it does increase the appearance of grain. Nowadays I'm using Ilford ID11 (1+1) for 13 minutes. There are as many combinations of film speed, developer as there are photographers.

Cheers

Very nice, Vincent! I really enjoy this composition, and the HIE looks spectacular here.
