The Andalucia

Recent image. An interpretation of the Andalucian region of Spain - olives ... olives ... olives ...
The whole scene changed rapidly over the 20mins I was there, then it was gone.
I realise the scan leaves a lot to be desired - unfortunately not possible to see the distant monastery. just try to imagine it.

John, that is superb. As you mentioned, you clearly were in that spot when the light was just perfect. But just being there is not enough. You've captured it brilliantly.

Amazing.

I'm packing !

I like it a lot. The bushes in the foreground are a little distracting (some might like that though) and the sky is too dark for my liking at the top, but it was obviously a fleeting moment and you captured it.

I don't usually bother clicking on the images on the left of the home page, but this inspired me to do so. I love it! Well done John.

I can't offer a critique - sorry.

(edit: Well, actually on second thoughts, I can - crop the bushes from the lower part of the image. They only distract from the otherwise orderly arrangement of the cultured trees.)

My first image posted for a while. Thanks muchly, appreciate the comments! I realise what you are saying about the Olive trees at the base. In the scan they seem distracting. In the larger print the eye seems to skip over them fairly easily and I think they add a little intimacy to come back to. But then maybe that is more intention than evaluation.
Any comments always welcome from you Graeme ha ha.
Don - when you get there, try the ripe tomatoes on toasted bread drizzled in local olive oil. Oh and don't forget to pack a hat! Had one day more than 110F.
Thanks.

Lovely photograph, John. Have you considered printing the sky with a more gentle gradation to the top? The darkened sky lends a slightly oppressive feeling to an otherwise radiant scene. All the best, Daniel

John,
An excellent photograph, I like just as it is! Change nothing! Simply a beautiful photograph.
Charlie..................

An ingenious interpretation of this landscape, unique and creative in the very best sense of the word. A pleasure to watch it !
