Although I like this "as is" one solution for the head issue may be to: put some light on the background at and above the shoulders then cut the light on the torso above the shoulders creating a silhouette profile.

Very nice image Scott, reading other comments I think you've framed the image perfectly, I like the cut off head - the anonymity, a you say the "torso".

Well done, Scott. I do like Suzanne's suggestion though, and I also was wondering about having less (or no) black space on the right. In any case, well done.
