Thank you everyone for your positive feedback.
For Victor: The neg from the xpan is 24 x 65 mm.
For Colin : My usual practice is to print a 9.25 x 3.5 inch RC print . If I'm happy with the result I'll go for a 13.5 x 5.5 inch fibre print on a 12 x 16 sheet which allows for a test strip. I need the larger prints for camera club use and exhibitions. In the past I've scanned in the smaller print.I've just figured out how to scan the neg with my Epson, so these two posts are neg scans.
You are correct about the castle and The Holy Grail . You must be a fan of the Python's, I had to look it up.

You're right the image is there for the making - that is why your image needs to be pretty much spot on to stand close examination - this does that!
