Thank you all very kindly for your comments. Spring has been absolutely gorgeous around here, and this photograph was taken just this past weekend (April 24).
Perry, the long cold winters make Spring all the more magnificent, in case you need any reason not to want to live here!
Robert Frost's poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay", aptly describes the distinctive color of the freshly sprung leaves. I used a yellow filter for the exposure, which accounts for the IR-like look. The thiocarbamide toning (with bleaching step) added a degree of warmth I thought suitable for this scene.
