Smile with assist

From my oldest son's Marine Corps boot camp graduation. They aren't supposed to smile in photographs while in uniform, so my daughter helped him out a bit. Such a shock to see how mature and strong he became in three months. Longtime APUGers may remember him as a little kid from the images I used to post. He's now a helicopter mechanic. Time flies.

This makes me happy  Another great family photograph from you.... and welcome back!

Hi Cheryl, great photo. Time does indeed fly - my boy Stefan will officially be an adult a year in December.

Thanks, everyone. It's nice, now that my oldest is gone, to see my younger son and daughter getting much closer than they used to be. Part of it, I think, is the realization that Jonah has decided to follow in his brother's footsteps, which means he has one year left before he ships off to boot camp. My daughter will be the only child through her high school years. So strange.

Hi Cheryl, Congratulations, I'm not surprised your son needed assistance to smile, I'm a former Royal Marine, and although it was many years ago I still have nightmares about how tough the seven months basic training was, hopefully he can come home have some leave now and some rest.
