a wonderful expressive portrait Kerik...8 sec is a long time for this age group to pause....which makes this very, very nice image more the mysterious...
Beautiful! What I love about these collodion plates has a lot to do with the absence of certain tones. Clearly there is on spot of bright white in the catch light in her eye, but the limited range of tones seems to add to the atmosphere of the setting.
You do this so incredibly well, and I am in awe of your accomplishments. So elegant. So beautiful.

Kerik, the tone of this is amazing! Must be something to see in person. Ah, the love of music! Good for her and your family! My three sons are accomplished classical pianists and I love that the music never stops. To bad they are off at college, only have the recordings now. Excellent work as always.
Thank you all for the comments. Yes, this one is dark and, in fact, "underexposed". But, one of the things I really like about collodion is that for a given image there are often many correct exposures, giving a very different feel to the image. It seems to be much more forgiving this way than "normal" photography.
Phill - Moshing is what passes for dancing at punk rock shows. Lots of pushing, shoving, crowd-surfing, etc. As violent as it can appear from the sidelines (where I am at these shows), surprisingly few injuries occur. When someone falls down during the pandemonium, they are immediately brought back to their feet by whoever is nearby.
Jim - I hear you! She's a high school senior and this time next year, she'll be off to college. :-(
