Overall I'm extremely happy with this print. But there are a couple of things I'm not sure about, the main one being the dark corner in the top right. What do you think?
Ian, very nicely done...the corner in question is not a "deal breaker" and either way works fine..follow your sensibility and I am sure that will be correct for your image..
Negative retouching is something I've been meaning to learn, but I haven't had sufficient motivation yet. I think I'll develop the B neg and play around with it a bit...
Luke, your "gentle reminder" is spot on. I proofed with a polaroid and then decided to make a last minute change, tilting the camera up by a whisker. And I forgot to check the corners of the ground glass properly. Of course in my proof the shadow was hidden by the polaroid margins... I'm not sure which smiley means raising your eyes, shrugging your shoulders, and saying "you got me," but this would be an apt place for it.
Either way though, I really like this composition and print. I'm not going to crop it (because I think the curve is too important), but I am going to experiment with ways of reducing the contrast up there.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone. And yes David, I'll definitely bring this one on Saturday.
You should be extremely happy with this print! It's gorgeous. The skin tone is just perfect, and the texture even more so. Soft, gentle lines and slightly disorganized hair; the line that stretches from her visible shoulder to her hip and down her leg I could let my eyes play along forever. Fantastic!

Thank you Thomas. Actually I am more than extremely happy with the print (But I'm also a bit of a perfectionist.) For me, one of the joys of pt/pd is how the final image appears almost instantly when you pour on the developer. When I saw this print in the tray I definitely had one of those, "weak at the knees," moments.
Ian, have a look at masking the gallery picture to remove the whole of the top by 1/4 - 3/8". In my viewing, this crop preserves the richness of the texture of the body and the hair while to leave it as it is not only shows the top right "blob" but also allows the tone of the print to almost disappear towards the upper part of the photograph.
Another vote for cropping or at least greatly lightening the dark OOF area in the corner, other than that a very successful image IMHO, thx for posting
I like the image too. I would dodge the corner a bit though - I think it's a bit too dark, but I definitely would leave it in. Honestly, what I find more distracting is her panty line, but then that's the glamour photographer in me coming out. Just me. A horndog!
