When I view these kind of things I get sad. I look at all that American steel and iron and all the jobs it provided to manufacture it and how we all benefited from it...now it's gone for the most part. Even the little cotter pin you see in the top right is more than likley made overseas somewhere. I don't want to sound like a nationalist but I've seen the layoff and hard times side of the coin all to often. I wanted this to be a homage to all the men and women before us that worked so hard to make this country nice for us.

The cold tone works well with the fact that it's a piece of machinery. Great eye for composition too and I like that there's no distraction from the image.
