Thanks again. Boy, I don't think I've shot any 35mm B&W in at least 5 years--just MF and LF, and 35mm has been strictly color slides. It's kinda fun with that super speedy lens! I'm also realizing that I really depend on the close focus of an SLR for this kind of thing, dampening any Leica curiosity I might have otherwise had, which is good, since I've got other small format expenses at the moment!
Not wanting to change my routine too much for these shots, I spot metered the skin tone through the lens, and opened up one stop. Out of three rolls of Tri-X, I only made the mistake of closing down one stop rather than opening up on about 4 frames, but even those are printable. The others are all right on target. I rate TX/Acufine at EI 800, but probably could get away with EI 1000, which is recommendation on the Acufine label.
I'm taking a little break from the Tri-X/Acufine bit today to do a little video of the sort that dare not speak its name on APUG, for the family (but the Super-8 will come out of the case at some point).
