Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you all enjoyed the picture. I initially tried to burn the log down to shadow with a 1000% burn, since it is in full sun and quite bright. After trying different variations I found that my first print with a just a 100% burn was the best looking or most interesting.
Just curious, how big do you make your enlargements with the Diana? This one appears about 7.5 inches (LtoR) on my screen.
I like that little patch of fog above the falls which adds something...maybe balances all the dark & light areas (BTW the top of the falls in the sun is blown out on my monitor).
The description STRIKING comes to mind when you first see this image.
Hi, thanks for your comments. I made this enlargement to 7 x 7 inches. I think I will print it larger, like 9 inches or 14 and see how it works. The actual print is more subtle than this scan and that bright spot isn't so glaring as it is on the screen.
I went to his website and I really think if he held a piece of film in his hands he could get a great photo. most people that use these cameras just don't get them to work the way he can.
