In the coop

Two of my favorite subjects, while standing in a coop full of turkeys and quail. (Translate: standing in bird sh*t.) Sarah, the girl in front, was terrified of the turkeys.

(Note: she's fourteen years old. God help her parents.)

A stunning portrait, Cheryl! I agree about the sentiments about her parents...

She doesn't look terrified at all to me. On the contrary, as a father of a somewhat younger but quite dynamic lady, I'm the one who is terrified, especially after reading your last phrase . Very well done portrait. I like the expression of the subject in the background, it adds a lot to the photo.

OK Cheryl what's up with the coop? why are this 14 year olds are in a bird sh t ?

There has got to be a story here ...

nice portrait

Wonderful portrait... I have a ten-year old, and am in NO rush to have her get to fourteen!

Not only is the location of great interest, "literally" - but the horizontal slats, the chicken wire, the smell inspired instinctively, and the look on the faces of the two girls is an amazing contrast of differences, and you also notice it in their clothing. Very unique and incredible moment to capture. It's the story told, as ilya stated. Wonderful.

Very nice work, it really is interesting on several levels.

How did you come to choose this location and these models? I like the way they seem to be scrutinizing your intentions and Sarah posture looks almost protective of the girl behind her.
