I'm placing this image in the critique gallery hoping that someone might be able to explain why the uppermost portion of the model is completely blown out? I have had this issue many times before in low light conditions. The photo was under exposed from the start because I shoot a speed graphic with a minimum shutter speed of 1/30th sec and the sun was going down fast.Nothing in the meter reading would have indicated that a part of the scene was off the charts? Very frustrating problem, any help would be greatly appreciated. For the record I used normal development time so over development does not explain this problem.....

It is a outstanding print. So much texture around the Nude. just love looking at it. I have started to not criticize how prints scan out. because not all of us can have high end scanners and make great prints to show on the site. Shooting quality is something else though.

Some of it is just you've got challenging light, too. You've effectively got a giant softbox directly overhead, pointing straight down. But I agree, it will be easy to fix in the darkroom, and even relatively easy to fix in the scan if you apply a minimum level of judicious burning/dodging (which we won't discuss here).

Maybe it's not blown out. Maybe it looked exactly like what you have there, especially as you say the sun was rapidly changing. It isn't just the model, it's like that on top of the bricks by her legs too.
