What if I said that this is too immersed within the mid-tones? Would that be acceptable or would the response be that that is all there is, David! Somehow I want more, if only to accent the laudable sharpness (f16 with normal lens) and lack of bothersome ulterior detail. I like it, but want it to say something more. - David Lyga

David, Thank You. I've honestly never considered that there could be too much mid. If there is - it certainly applies here. 'Gray day - I thought - perfect for fine detail and off I go. Its entirely possible I was so tunnel-visioned on detail/texture/tone that I would be oblivious to the rest of the spectrum. I appreciate your saying so. I'd never think of it otherwise. 'Hope you're very well.

I suppose this David could say that about the mid-tones also, but he won't -- mayhaps because he's tired of a world full of shots using HDR! Not every interesting shot has to "sparkle," I rather like it. I keep wanting to do something with a red cabbage sliced in half vertically, but the fleeting thought usually hits me in the middle of dicing one up whilst fixing dinner!

I think I know what you mean -- it is a bit 'Grey' overall -- I have noticed this with many of Mr Silver's Photos -- maybe it's in the Scanning ?

I call them as they strike me, It might seem a bit cruel, even egotistical at times, but I try to be honest and, to be truthful, what do I matter? No harm done. - David Lyga

Mr Lyga Sir -- you are a REGULAR and VALUED Commentator on this site even if you are an 'Old Duck'

This might benefit from a tweak of micro contrast - either selenium to deepen the fine shadows, a brief touch of farmer's to brighten the highlights on the vegetable. and that is assuming the scan is not a bit flat.

All that aside, it is really nice - I don't stop to look as this sort of thing as often as I should, and there is so much to see.

Gents, thank you!
David - particularly 'cause calling them as you see them isn't always easy or appreciated. I very much do appreciate it. Pls. keep it up

DWT - Man, do I ever ring to the burnout on HDR this, scortching levels of saturation, etc. So much of Flickr starts to feel like the photo equivalent of a poor painting of Elvis on black velvet that you'd see in Tiajuana. But you sense the too gray also - as does Eric. I'd be nuts not to listen carefully to that.

'Sure appreciate it, all.
