Horse - Print

Just a little comparison between neg scan and print scan.
Not only is it a different quality, but it's also a different interpretation. I did not look at the print when I scanned the negative, and vice versa...

Just thought it was interesting to see.

This looks much richer to me. In general I find neg scans unsatisfying, though that may be because my computer skills lag far behind my darkroom skills.

Nice Thomas. But for some reason I rather like the negative scanned version best. I like contrast as much as any other guy, but sometimes the lack of it is even better. No matter. Both are good.

Thanks for your consistent efforts and well-made prints. I prefer this print to the neg scan, this has got soul! And it's nice to see someone printing on the matt MGIV, an old favourite.

The score vs.. performance ... both are very important , but the print ( performance) is something you can hear loud and clear , that's why scanning and showing negatives is very much an incomplete work... It's all about the print, it validates ones ability to perform.
Thanks Thomas ..glad to see you are back in the dark printing... your performance there is masterful.
