I still need a lot of work on my dodging but, still liked how this one turned out. I had my work cut out for me on this one. I miss judged the reciprocity failure and had to do A LOT of dodging on the rocks. Try several times but, just couldn't seem to get it to come out without the stupid "halo"
I do not know if it would be easier, but how about making the first exposure for the rock, then burning in as needed? That is how I preferred to work with silver gelatin printing...but my subject matter tended to more in the deep redwood forest rather than the seashore.
Good dodging is tough to do -- one has such a limited time to work with. With burning, one has all the time in the world to paint with light onto the paper.
Thanks Vaughn, hadn't even thought of that. I'm wondering if I'll be able to pull it off that way without running into the halo again??? I'll have to give it a shot next session. Thanks again for the idea
