Slowly making the pile of film turn into negatives. I've been souping a lot of film, and I ran out of negative sleeves!!! Ack...
Anyway... not sure yet how I will print this, there are shiny flecks of sand called "fool's gold" in the beaches of the shimmering shores of Bass Lake, California. Hoping to somehow bring out those bright flakes, but they may be too small to work. Thoughts?
That may be a great case for hand-coloring- just a tiny bit of yellow, or even get some gold leaf kit from an art supply store and actually apply flecks of gold foil to the image to bring it out...
Print it REALLY big (20x24) so you have decent size gold flecks to work on, and do it on matt paper, and tone it, maybe sepia? This is a good project for a lot of hand-working. Maybe some Marshalls' oils as well.
I like this image and the ideas as to where it is headed.
I used a Pilot brand (I think) marker that you shake up to apply some thick 'really' shimmery gold 'flakes' to an image of a snow globe I used as a Christmas card a couples of years back. Practically 3D.
I think you can make it work in printing it big, like Scott suggests. Lovely image! You know, I like having that stash of undeveloped film laying around. Potential winners...
