Empire State Bldg; Paper Negative

I've been looking at this for 2 days and still don't know if it "works" or not. Looking to make an image 'evoking the dawn of photography' It also has to be good. This is made from a paper negative I made from the original Holga negative. All feedback and criticism welcome.
Thanks in advance

I like this very much also. the viginetting cuts out much of what would date this photo to a particular time period, making a 'timeless' photo. The highlight on the empire-state building makes it look polished and new.
I think there is some room for improvement though. I would like to see a bit more contrast, and the building on the left edge is distracting.

Great Job!

It's beautiful why a paper negative, Just make a photograph and stop playing with technique. see Stieglitz.

The image appeals to one's sense of symmetry, and your attempt to riff on an historical look, was fairly successful. What I do find distracting though, is the whole lower right corner. It looks like a technical glitch; be it flare, lack of burning down, paper/scanner reflection, whatever. It keeps me from being able to suspend disbelief, and enter into the frame.

Thanks again for everyones comments and suggestions. Usually I would agree that focusing too much on technology may get in the way of image making (or spur it on it) but in this case it was primary to realizing an image that is not otherwise available.
