I've been looking at this for 2 days and still don't know if it "works" or not. Looking to make an image 'evoking the dawn of photography' It also has to be good. This is made from a paper negative I made from the original Holga negative. All feedback and criticism welcome.
Thanks in advance
this is great vic -
i love how the ceiling of clouds looks like a drop ceiling,
how all the surrounding buildings sort of "bow-down to the tall one".
the corners do it for me too - vignetted +burned out - this is a beauty!
I also thought maybe you had found an old negative to print when I saw the thumbnail, so it was delightful to find out it was not an old negative but a holga negative made into a paper negative very recently. good job, I really love it.
Thanks to all for taking the time to provide me with some very helpful feedback. I've looked at this image so many times I lost my ability to be objective. I needed to resee it from a fresh perspective and now I have. BTW:a big bright moon is coming up through some clouds to the left of the ESB - just above the Chrysler Bldg- if you hurry you can catch it
I too love this, would be great to see the print, the highlight on the building makes the picture for me, great job, would love to see more. Tom Baril did a great picture of the chrysler building, (http://www.robertkleingallery.com/gallery/albums/baril-architecture/aae.jpg) but your shot seems more atmospheric, have you done any of the chrysler building?
