Country Road Darkroom Print

Always hard to work out the best course without seeing be basic single filter version. You might be less bothered by the post if you trim the right side a bit to make the tree the right edge of the frame. At the moment you have split the attention around the tree and the road/post on the left. I'd probably try for a light track in the foreground. Overall, I'd use the left half - that road is interesting.

Thanks for the tips. Am on a weeks holiday and away from the darkroom. I will read up on bleaching and flashing. Will make a picture of it yet.

wonderful mood on this one

Had the pleasure of leisurely viewing a hundred Bill Brandt prints recently. I have always admired his work. It was good to see repro and exhibit prints after long-admiring his work in photo mags. Was surprising to see retouched and un-retouched examples of some of his best known.

I think your image is too good to let the white post force wet-work-arounds (tho would be easy to fix with PS)...I'd just paint with Spottone.

@grahamp Yes, good observations. While there are a number of good fixes for that white post, the reality is that it actually holds two good images, left and right, awkwardly together.
