I'm wondering how much tonal range could be achieved just out of the black water. Maybe try cropping the white a little at a time til it's gone to see if another crop works. Maybe the lip of the black, leaving just the small white dip? Good Work.

This is very similar to a photograph by Minor White entitled "Stony Brook State park, New York", plate 22 in the book "The Eye That Shapes". It has always been one of my favorites of his. High praise, indeed.
This is a great image. I really like the inverted/upside down perspective implied by the flow of the water both down (away from the eye) and up the photo. But the image holds its own as an image and not just a picture of some water and rocks. Wonderful!
