The Outhouse

This old outhouse used to sit behind one of the last remaining old log cabins in White County. They were both torn down about 10 years ago. I shot the Tri-X 400 at 1600 and processed it in D-76, diluted 1:4. Taken on February 20th, 2011.

Konica Autoreflex TC, Konica Hexanon AR 50mm, f/1.7 lens.
Exposure
f/16, 1/500th of a second.
Film & Developer
Kodak Tri-X 400, D-76.
Digital Post Processing Details
Scanned with an Epson Perfection V500.

Nice, the title caught my I because I was photographing our outhouse the other day. It’s circa 1998 with and upgrade from a pit to a composing toilet in 2001. I’m getting ready to build a new one so I wanted to document the old one. Our present outhouse is sheathed with OSB, so no near as photogenic as the one in your photo.

I noticed the one I photographed had a horseshoe over the door. Traditionally, I've seen crescent moons in that position. Does yours have anything over the door?

Nothing over the door but that’s a good idea for the new one. We do have some nice photography and art work hanging inside.
