It's funny, but I got an old image I took in 1999 in my head. Was exploring a castle in Prague and entered a random room to find this, bathed in golden light. Why were the instruments abandoned? What had I missed? Never did find out. But the image stuck with me still.

It cannot b e the 'New' Ektachrome as the poster said it was taken in 1999 when it was the 'Old' Ektachrome still.

Yes, old Ektachrome...this was in another life wayyyyy back in 1999. 20 years ago, hard to believe.
 
Everything in this works well. Nicely seen and executed. I can see why it stuck with you.
