I can only echo the comments already stated. I'll add that I really think you did well with this architectural shot. Beautiful, Daniel; you're giving the building some dignity. But sad indeed.

Great photograph even in its ruin you have captured its grandness. Being in the middle of a restoration of an old church I see this as a opportunity.

The main street through downtown Gary reflects the sobering consequences of economic decline. As I understand it, this area was relatively prosperous not more than half a century ago due to the steel mills. Now the city has the dubious distinction of being one of the most dangerous places in the country. The decaying church complex is a depressing reminder of a once proud community buckling under the unbearable pressure of economic hardships. I hope we can remember their contributions in a positive light, but as the structures are demolished, the physical evidence is slowly disappearing.

This series struck a chord. I can imagine an important pipe organ filling this building with sound and life. How sad to see it abandoned....on many levels.
