Cape Disappointment Lighthouse

Cape Disappointment Lighthouse

At the North side of the mouth of the Columbia River, dividing the two states of Washington and Oregon, lies this lighthouse.
"Cape Disappointment" got its name from the many ship-wrecks that fell victim to the treacherous conditions of entering the river from the Pacific Ocean. Known to man, there are about 200 wrecks off the coast, some of the visible to the human eye.

From a recent trip to the Oregon coast to relax, and it's a wonderful place to just exist. An utterly beautiful place! And, I managed to sneak a shot in here and there, which was an added bonus.

Thank you for viewing. Hope you like.

*edit: And, as usual the colors get all screwed up when I upload the image to the web. The print has a golden warm yellow in the sky, and a hint of copper in the shadows*
