the image portrays a hidden gem I discovered during my last trip to Italy: a little roman bridge lost in the woods in the heart of Brianza, the area in Italy where Im from.
Nowadays the bridge sees little traffic: the trail that goes upon is used mostly by locals and the creek that flows underneath is not as wide and strong as it used to be (still, beware of the rocks of the creek bed, they are extremely slippery! I know a guy with a camera who fell on them...)
It's a humble small bridge, a little known testimony of a remote past, when life was slower and people were crossing that land at the pace of their feet. And still today, as I was shooting this scene, I had the feeling of being in a place out of time.
