Print was a a result of messing with toners. First Selenium then viradon. Viradon goes beserk on this paper, so I used selenium to prevent it losing most of its density. Result - Pinky browny highlights, purpley brown shadow.
One small softbox to front of subject, replector to rear. Long live Jessops cheapie portaflash!
I love the composition. I'm a fan of cutting off the tops of heads for composition sake. Also, the left hand does not bother me at all, I think it works. Showing the left arm, as rbarker mentioned, would make it too literal. Sometimes it's good to leave things to the viewer's imagination. The tonality and the smooth gradations really add to the softness of the concept. I know this is intended to be fine art, but I really think this image would be perfect in a commercial application like an advertisement or brochure. This is a compliment coming from a Graphic Designer. This image could really sell something.
