Pentaxuser, I think that Andrew was riffing on the name for the rugby equivalent of an American Football (NFL etc) touchdown: one scores a 'try' by touching the ball down in the opponent's 'end zone'.

As the Rugby World Cup is now happening in France, Daniela might find some visitors interested in her remarkable shot.
