  1. Yes
This is a great shot well done !!!

@jnantz. Ice has no prob with B&W tones...it'd be perfect for this...my fave b&w fillums have always been HP3, HP4, and HP5...always have avoided tabular.

Avoid urban legends :smile:

Makes me want to revisit xtol / Trix...main thing is that this is a great photo...

@jnantz macfred can speak for himself.

Compare his Epson 600's price with today's used Nikon V 50ED (about what I paid for mine long ago).

Reportedly Epson 600 had issues with its implementation of Digital Ice.

@jtk

Yes, David Heath stands out for me in my pantheon of photographer gods. I won't say my work is inspired by his but it is true that his backstory is not dissimilar to my own.

And everyone, thank you all for the compliments on this portrait. It's one of my favorites.

I actually made this exposure 3 years ago. The roll of Tri-X sat undeveloped in a bag of 20+ rolls of film until last week. I discovered this trove of undeveloped film and have been developing 3-6 rolls an evening. Many of my best portraits are coming from this work. I am kind of amazed that the Big Guy in the Sky arranged for me to neglect my best work for years before rediscovering it recently. This portrait and several others are the reason why I am so energized to work again.
