As you probably know Kodak has finished producing Kodachrome film. While I was never a big fan of the stock. I believe some of us may miss the red and yellow boxes of film.
So I suggest we lift a cold one in respect for one of color photography's most important films. I will have a Guiness in its honor and toast, "Here is to one of the great ones. A true trail blazer in its full color, a leader in the field of commercial, amature and fine art photography. When I hear Paul Simmon sing to your status, I will smile."

I am out of beer, so it will have to be a Scotch. I don't think I ever exposed a roll of Kodachrome, though.

Good morning, Robert;

Another thing that has changed. Sometimes it does seem that too many things change. One of the films that I could always depend on is no longer available. I started just when it was still Kodachrome, and I remember when it became Kodachrome II and they raised the ASA speed rating to 25. That super saturated color effect did come in handy on a cloudy day.

I still miss Panatomic-X, FX-32, also. I dunked a lot of that into Microdol-X for 13 minutes. Even Microdol-X seems to be gone also.

Am I getting old?

Enjoy;

Ralph, I am old. I don't remember Kodachrome previous to 25 or 64. If you remember it from long before that then you are either old or in a time warp.

sorry to bear bad news. But really how bad is it to live a long time and tell of it?

Good morning, Dennis;

Yeah, having an excessive accumulation of years is a bit strange. In some circles, I am considered to be not only an old timer, but also someone they look to for training and education. Being asked to drive around to make presentations to differing groups is a little bit strange also. Somewhat sobering and quite a responsibility. My supervisors at work did not seem to think that I knew anything at all. What happened now that they are paying me to stay at home?

And, no, I do not remember Kodachrome in LF. Back in those days, I concentrated on 35 mm and 120/620.

Enjoy;

Well, I tried. I have some KR64 in a P&S sitting here on my desk, so I thought I'd lift one in salute. None in the fridge. Well, grab one off the shelf then, set it next to the keyboard, pop it open and watch as it fountains all over everything, just missing a Perkeo II resting nearby. Here's to you, Kodachrome...
