How about a challenge for those of you who use or can use Polaroid or Fujiroid type film?!
Let’s pick a week and those of you interested go out and photograph and then bring back your results.
I’m playing with an RB67 using a Polaroid back and Fuji material. Once I get a handle on how to expose the film. I plan to show the results.
Any of you interested? If so let start pick that week to start sharing work.
Let me know?

I have some polaroid in cold storage that I am going to be reluctant to use recklessly but I would be in for a print or two.

OK, How does the last week in May sound? That is May 24 to 30th.
I just did one round of images to get an idea of what I'm up against.
Are you up for the challenge?

Sounds good to me...how are we to show/share work? I can't seem to post anything to this part of the forum.

Okay! Got it all figured out again how to post images!

Thanks, Robert!

I posted a few images a few months ago and they lost a lot of sharpness. I had posted the same images in the regular APUG gallery and they were sharp with no problem but when I put them in this gallery they got soft. I notice that yours look soft as well Vaughn. Is there some sizing formula that must be followed? Or am I just getting fuzzy in the head?

I think I lost some sharpness -- my images also lightened up a bit between my album and the images posted to here. I had to darken the album image up some to translate better here.

OK, back to the Polaroid. Do you want to post your images during May 24-30th or use that week to photograph or photograph and share during that window of time.

I am fine with creating the images that week and then posting the images by June 15th -- I am out of town for 5 weeks soon after that. Even posting the images during that week of May 24th would work for me.

OK, then the May week will be the challenge week and we'll post images on June 15th. Sounds like fun to me. I have been playing with the film and getting an idea of how much exposure is right. Someone wrote to me saying that I could cut my polaroid back to fill the whole print with image and not do a square format. Is this true? I won't cut my current back but I'm bidding on a second one and maybe I'll play metal surgeon on it.
Hope you get great light in May!

OK, I'm working on my set of Fuji prints. I had a small bump in the beginning but hope to finish big! What about you Vaughn?

Thanks -- I needed the reminder! Life is as crazy as ever! My boys are on two different baseball teams and they against each other this afternoon...at least one of the boys' teams won!

I am working on a project using a Speed Graphic, a looking glass lens, and Type 55 P/N film -- portraits of my boys. To be contact printed onto old photo paper. That is, unless something else also grabs my attention!

Robert, I took my photos last week-end -- but I have not processed them yet, which I hope to do today (Type 55 -- which I remove from the holder w/o processing until I get back to the darkroom and my Sodium sulfite). Keeping my fingers crossed!

Robert, I have mine printed...just have to scan them -- will do within a couple days.

I don't have access to the scanner -- the custodians are waxing the floor in there. So I will try to photograph it with my digital tonight and see what I can do!

Vaughn

Edited...The wax was dry in the computer lab so I scanned three prints...a little dusty. Fairly straight scans. They should be up above in the Pacific North West gallery.

Robert, are the three color images in the gallery above your results from the week in May? You mentioned Fuji film, and since the above are square, I was wondering if they were SX-70's or the later version (600?). The one of Claire and the geese has a sort of a 1960's color and feel to it. "Ferns" (looks more like Skunk cabbage) has a wonderful blue tinge to parts of the leaves...sort of like bringing part of the sky down onto to the green of the leaves. Can you tell me more about them?

Robert -- I check out your images posted in the main gallery and see that the images posted above are from the single-image day (that info did not come over with the images). They are very cool! Congrats on a successful project!

Hey Vaughn.
I also liked your work. Love the use of the magnifying lens and the double exposures of your two boys mind me of surreal expressionist work.
Very creative.
I just photograph what I see. A straight shooter.
