Olympus OM10 - 50mm Lens Focussing Problem?

#1
So yesterday, when I went into town to shoot some streets, I noticed there was a new problem with my (standard) 1.8 50mm lens focussing. I recently had to fix the sticky-shutter problem that I encountered, and I'm not sure if this is what caused the problem.

Basically, it will only focus on things about 2 meters in front of me, and then it stops. When you move the focusing to Infinity, it doesn't actually focus on anything, it seems. Everything is out of focus, no matter how close or far away it is. It's a huge inconvenience, the only things that can be in focus are 2 meters in front, which is a huge pain as I missed some great opportunities yesterday.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or will I have to buy a new 50mm lens?

Hi PaperNoire,
My first thought was that the focussing screen could be out of place but then I saw you were using an OM10 which doesn't have interchangable screens (does it? It's not a model I'm familiar with).
Don't take offence, but you haven't got a close up lens attached which you've not thought about, have you? Other than that, I'm stumped, the only consolation is that if you have to replace the lens they are very resonably priced since almost everyone has gone f1.4/f2 and zoom crazy. I'm trusting that the camera hasn't been bounced, of course. You could test the body if you could try it with another lens, even of a different focal length.

A couple of ideas:

1. Extension tube on lens.

2. Focusing ring has come loose. I believe there are screws under the rubber that may come loose and the focusing ring might be out of alignment.
