WOW! film photography is alive and well in Montréal. I just found out about this Montréal group from Ginette Clement whom I have been supplying with fogged paper for her kind of work. I met Michel Hardy-Vallée over a 100 foot roll of Kodak 5302 film. I shoot strictly analog, from 35mm to 8x10, and do all the developping and printing in my own darkroom. I use a Omega D2V with condensors and a another D2 with Zone VI cold light, and will soon be installing a Durst 138 laborator for 5x7. I have also also become the dumping ground and repository of darkrooms that were destined for the scrapheap.... Have several enlargers sitting in the basement and sundry darkroom equipement. I have stuff I need to get rid of and somebody else might find it useful. If somebody is starting a darkroom, give me a shout.
I don't know what the protocol is for this group is but are we allowed to trade. And there is equipment that I can't just mail to somebody, ie. a SEAL 200 press and various other enlargers. If you do weights, this is for you. I have FOR SALE ADS on APUG...... Can I point to them in this group?
Somebody mentioned that the were looking a for a good camera repair person. I know one that has done all my Exaktas, Hassies....and whatnot, does film and digital. Is Borealis still alive? I have 8x10 positive Provia to have developped. Haven't been there in several years.
I was thinking that maybe we can pool our collective buying power and ask Lozeau and Photo-Service to maintain a certain level of inventory relating to film and chemistry. If they have what we want, then we'll buy it.
Anyway, if anybody needs a SEAL 200, please get in touch, via this group, and we'll work something out. If somebody feels that this is out of line, then let me know.
