Canon FD Group

Canon FD 85 f1.2

#1
I have an opportunity to purchase this lens for a reasonable price. I have looked at this lens and it looks quite good really despite its age (1980 ish ?) But when I put the lens on a camera and stopped down setting no matter what I set the aperture to anything the lens remained at it's wide open position. I have tried this on many FD lenses I have purchased and the aperture always worked properly. Is there something I am doing wrong with this lens or is it a defect with this particular lens. For the price they are going for I want it to be 100% sure I am not buying a one that will cost me to repair after buying.

a fault inside the lens aperture lever -- i have a Yashica DSB 50mm f1.9 that WAS perfect then suddenly would not stop down -- everything had to be taken at full aperture. I contacted a 'CONTAX Expert' and he did the oil in my Planar T* 50mm f1.4 and the Yashica for £35 each + postage.
